No. 9 Panthers Travel to No. 7 Illinois State

The Panthers travel to Normal, Illinois to face an Illinois State team that is 6-2 on the year and 6-1 against FCS opponents. UNI is 5-3 after a win over Missouri State on the road at Missouri State. According to Massey Ratings, UNI has faced the second-toughest schedule to date in the FCS. The game is the 34th in the series and UNI leads 20-13, the two teams have split the last eight meetings dating back to 2010.
•The Panthers held Missouri State to just 169 total yards, including just 16 yards rushing en route to the 29-6 win. Isaiah Weston kept up his outstanding play with 157 yards and two touchdowns. The Panther Defense tallied five sacks and nine Tackles for loss.
• The win over Southern Utah was Head coach Mark Farley's 150th career victory. He is the winningest coach in UNI and Missouri Valley Football History and the 10th coach in FCS history with 154 FCS victories.
• The UNI defense is proving to be one the best in the FCS. UNI is ninth in 13th in total defense, 22nd in scoring defense 9th in tackles for loss and 8th in sacks.
• Isaiah Weston and Chris Kolarevic are building resumes for comeback player of the year honors. Weston missed all of last season and through eight games sits atop the MVFC in receiving TDs, Receiving yards and yards per catch. Kolarevic has played in just four games, but is already sixth on the team in total tackles and earned a pair of MVFC Player of the Week honors.
• The Panthers have earned a Missouri Valley Player of the Week honor after seven of eight games this season. Cook was named the Special Teams Player of the Week after the Iowa State game and again after Missouri State, McElvain earned Newcomer of the Week honors after the Southern Utah game and Elerson G. Smith was named the Defensive Player of the Week after the Idaho State win and again after the Youngstown State victory. Against Weber State, McElvain earned his second newcomer of the Week honor and Chris Kolarevic picked up Defensive Player of the Week honors and again after the South Dakota game. Isaiah Weston was named the Offensive Player of the Week after the South Dakota game.
