UNI football: Derek Anderson and Ayden Price named to the MVFC Scholar-Athlete Team

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) released its 2025 MVFC Scholar-Athlete Team as announced by the league office Friday morning. Derek Anderson and Ayden Price highlighted the teams from UNI. Anderson was named to the First Team while Price was tabbed a Second Teamer.
38 total student-athletes from around the MVFC were honored on first, second and honorable mention teams for their academic success during the 2025 season. Defensive lineman Kobe Claybourne of South Dakota State was voted the 2025 MVFC Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
A 4.0 GPA student pursuing a masters degree in Kinesiology and Sports Performance, Derek Anderson caught 20 balls for 184 yards with two touchdowns this year. He had two touchdowns with a long reception of 24 yards. He had a season-best four receptions with 43 yards and a score in the opener against Butler. Anderson also added a TD catch against UND.
A 3.98 GPA student pursuing a degree in biology with a Pre-Prof: Medicine emphasis, Price finished the season with 20 receptions for 365 yards and two touchdowns including a season-high 135 yards and one touchdown in six receptions against Eastern Washington.
