Panthers Win Five Events at Iowa Premier Meet

RESULTS
IOWA CITY, Iowa – The UNI track and field team picked up five event wins and 15 top-three finishes at the Black and Gold Premier hosted by Iowa Saturday in Iowa City.
The Panthers got it started with a stellar performance from Tayshaun Cooper in the 60m dash. He won the Olympic development section of the 60m with a PR time of 6.85, the first MVC athlete to break 6.90 so far this season.
Lyndsie Schinkel won the 600m with a time of 1:33.91, less than half a second off of her career best.
Alex Jackson won the unseeded division of the 3,000m run with a time of 8:38.87, a career-best time.
The Panther 4x400 relay team won with a time of 3:10.86. The mark is the fastest of the year for UNI and just less than half a second off of the Panthers' time in the NCAA Outdoor Regionals last season.
UNI took first and second in the shot put. Darius King won the shot put with a toss of 59-2.25 edging teammate Keegan Tritle by an inch.
Other top-three finishers are Patrice Watson (2nd-60H), Sven Van Den Bergh (3rd-200m), Maddie McCalla (3rd-200m), Jasmine Blue (3rd-400m), Evan Long (3rd-400m), Hunter Lavallee (2nd-600m), Katie Nimrod (2nd-800m), Wal Khat (3rd-800), Ben Ahlrichs (3rd-1 Mile), Alyssa Williams (2nd-1 Mile), Cameron Cantrall (2nd – HJ), Owen Minshall (3rd-HJ) and women's 4x400 (2nd).

The Panthers split next week. Part of the team travels to the Meyo Invite at Notre Dame in South Bend, Ind., and the rest of the team heads to Lincoln, Neb., for the Husker Invite.
