WATERLOO, Iowa— Three second-half goals from the University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team earned their first win at home over the Huskies of Northern Illinois, 3-1.

Northern Illinois's Trudy Quidzinski put the first score on the board, scoring in the 37th minute off her own corner kick.
Â
Maddie DePrenger netted her first goal of the season in the 56th minute after the ball deflected off the Huskies goalkeeper to even the score.
Â
Hannah McDevitt gave the Panthers the lead in the 70th minute of the match, scoring in the center of the box.

"We have been improving every single game and we've been learning more about each other," said McDevitt. "The goals from Maddie and Genevieve were amazing and it feels good to get a solid win at home."

Genevieve Cruz added the final Panther goal in the 74th minute, off a ball from Sophia Conant. Conant netted her first assist of the season. Â

Goalkeeper Jami Reichenberger deflected against 5 shots from the Huskies. The Panthers had 15 shots, with 11 shots coming in the second half.

"We lost our rhythm in the first half and then found it in the second half," said head coach Bruce Erickson. "It was a good crowd and we are just more comfortable at home. There will be some familiarity on Sunday, but we just have to be ready."
