CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI soccer team will close out its 2026 season on Thursday as it takes on in-state rival Drake at home in Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) action.
Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT at the UNI Soccer Field with the contest free and open to the public.Â
Spectators can park in the west UNI-Dome lot as well as the gravel lot located next to the Doug and Anne Goschke Outdoor Practice Facility. Parking behind the team benches will be reserved for staff and game officials only.Â
UNI is coming off a 2-0 loss on the road to Southern Illinois on Sunday. The Panthers defense held the Salukis scoreless for the majority of the first half. Shaelee Franck led UNI in shot attempts with two on the day. Ella Ubben, Kylie Knief and Keira Bogott had one attempt each. Knief had the lone shot on goal for the Panthers attack. Panther goalkeeper Hailey Luedtke recorded three saves in the contest with two goals allowed.Â
Despite being eliminated from MVC Tournament contention, Northern Iowa, who is unbeaten at home in conference play, will have an opportunity to play spoiler as Drake seeks to jump Southern Illinois on the final day of the league's regular season. UNI can deny the Bulldogs the conference title with a win, or with a tie and SIU win.
SCOUTING DRAKEÂ
Drake currently sits one point behind first place Southern Illinois in the conference table, and will be looking to stay alive for a MVC regular season title and the MVC Tournament's top-seed. The Bulldogs, who have already secured a top-two seed and first round bye in the conference tournament, are coming off a 1-0 home victory against the Illinois State Redbirds on Sunday. Trelyn White scored the lone goal in the contest, which was her second on the season.Â
Angela Gutierrez leads the Bulldogs in scoring with 25 points and ten goals in the 2026 campaign. Alexa Aylward had 15 goals on the season with seven goals tallied this season. Addie Ford leads Drake in saves with 25 in 13 games played in net.Â
