THE PANTHERS
 • The Panthers move to 5-7 after defeating North Dakota in the McLeod Center.
• The Panthers received a few days off for the holidays but now look to the 11-3 Seawolves of Stony Brook.
• The Panthers and Seawolves have never played in the history of the programs, marking the first game in the series.

• The Panthers continue their effort to rebound. Collectively the Panthers rank 5th in the conference in rebounding, averaging 9.0 offensive rebounds and 25.9 defensive rebounds per game.
• Luke McDonnell ranks 6th in the league, bringing in 1.8 offensive rebounds per game while Trae Berhow hauls in 5.4 defensive rebounds per game, ranking him 6th in that category.

THE SEAWOLVES
•The Seawolves of Stony Brook are off to an incredible start to the season, entering the McLeod Center 11-3 on the season.
• The Seawolves average 75 points per game so far this season. Led by a versatile junior guard, Akwasi Yeboah, who averages 18.6 points per game.
• Yeboah is more than just a scorer, the 6'6 235 pound guard also leads the Seawolves in rebounding, haulÂing in 96 total rebounds including 24 offensive boards.
• Yaboah is complimented with two talented guards in Miles Latimer and Elijah Olaniyi. Latimer is a freshman guard that has contribÂuted early, averaging 12.2 points per game while bringing down 3.8 rebounds per game.
• Olaniyi is a 6'5 sophomore guard who averages 30 minutes per game on the court. Olaniyi averages 11.4 points per game and is secnd on the team with 27 assists.
• Jeff Boals was named head men's basketball coach at Stony Brook University by Director of Athletics Shawn Heilbron on April 9, 2016. He arrived at Stony Brook after spendÂing seven seasons as an assistant coach at Ohio State.
• In his first season with the SeaÂwolves, Boals led Stony Brook to a second-place finish in America East, beginning league play with five straight victories. The Seawolves earned a spot in the post season for the sixth straight year with an appearance in the CBI.
• A member of Thad Matta's staff from 2009-16, Boals helped guide Ohio State to seven postseason appearances, including six NCAA Tournaments. The Buckeyes, who won or claimed a share of three Big 10 titles, advanced to the Final Four in 2012. Ohio State went 193-62 during Boals' time in Columbus.
• Boals was instrumental in bringing some of the top players in the naÂtion to Ohio State, including curÂrent NBA stars Jared Sullinger and D'Angelo Russell, along with Aaron Craft, the all-time steals and assist leader in Ohio State history. He also coached the 2010 National Player of the Year, Evan Turner, during his outstanding collegiate career with the Buckeyes.
• Prior to Ohio State, Boals spent three seasons at Akron, serving as the team's recruiting coordinator and working with the post playÂers. The Zips advanced to three Mid-American Conference chamÂpionship games, winning the title in 2009. It was Akron's first NCAA Tournament berth since 1986.
