Strong Performances continue for UNI Swim and Dive

TOPEKA, Kansas— The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team continued competition today with strong performances from Katie Taylor, Crystal Florman, and Moriah Ross.
The preliminary session at the Kansas Classic will begin at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
Kansas Classic
Katie Taylor broke the school record in the 400 IM, timing in at four minutes, sixteen seconds, and two-hundredths of a second (4:16.02). Â Taylor captured first place with that time.
In the A final of the 100 butterfly, Crystal Florman swam into first place with a time of 54.72.
Moriah Ross timed in at 1:02.08 in the 100 breaststroke, good for second place.
In the 200 medley relay, Taylor, Ross, Florman and Abby Meyer take fourth place with a time of 1:41.02. Â In the 800 freestyle relay, the Panther team of Taylor, Kylie Engstrom, Jordan McCullough, and Florman timed in at 7:28.02.
Engstrom swam a 4:36.69 in the 400 IM A final.
McCullough was the sole Panther to compete in the B final of the 200 freestyle, timing in at 1:54.82.
Madison Rinaldi took third in the B final of the 100 backstroke, timing in at 57.55.
Alivia Soares competed in the B final of the 400 IM, swimming a 4:36.78. Â
Lauren Havertape timed in at 1:07.15 in the B final of the 100 breaststroke.
Ashleigh Houlette and Olivia Crouse competed in the C final of the 100 breaststroke. Houlette timed in at 1:09.32, while Crouse swam a 1:10.47.
In the C final of the 400 IM, Lauren Vilims timed in at 4:40.52.
In the C final of the 100 butterfly, Kelsey Ostrowski led the Panthers with a time of 58.59. Rachelle Houlette and Havertape had times of 59.53 and 59.30 respectively. Rounding out the Panthers was Emma Baertlein with a time of 59.76.
Anika Lillegard-Bouton and Khya Barkema competed in the C final of the 200 freestyle, timing in at 1:56.42 and 1:56.56 respectively.
A. Meyer, Ostrowski, and Shayla Warrick competed in the C final of the 100 backstroke. A. Meyer led the Panthers, timing in at 59.71. Warrick swam a 1:00.24, while Ostrowski timed in at 1:00.27.Â
In the D final of the 100 butterfly, Natalie Nelson, Anna Wall, and Courtney Schaeffer represented the Panthers. Nelson led the pack, timing in at 1:00.06. Wall swam a 1:01.95, while Schaeffer timed in at 1:04.98.
Schaeffer, Tina Meyer, and Sam Galvin all competed in the D final of the 200 freestyle. Galvin led the pack, timing in at 1:56.65. Meyer swam a 2:00.99, while Schaeffer timed in at 2:05.71.
Lauren Kacmarynski and T. Meyer had times of 1:01.75 and 1:02.32 in the D final of the 100 backstroke.
Hawkeye Invitational
On the 3-meter boards at the Hawkeye Invitational, Jayden Lovell led the Panthers with a dive score of 215.20. Mary Kate Ferlmann had a score of 209.85, while Madison Schoppe dove a 177.75.
