UNI Prepares for Road Tilt at Bradley, Illinois State

UNI GAME NOTES
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Continuing its three-game road swing in the Missouri Valley Conference, the University of Northern Iowa women's basketball team (8-10, 4-3 MVC) heads for a pair of weekend games against Bradley (10-8, 4-3 MVC) and Illinois State (8-10, 2-5 MVC) on Friday and Sunday.
The Panthers and Braves will tipoff at 7 p.m. CT on Friday, while Sunday's showdown against the Red Birds will begin at 2 p.m. CT.

NEED TO KNOW
- UNI (8-10, 4-3 MVC) continues its road swing with a pair of games against Valley foes Bradley and Illinois State.
- The Panthers have not won a road game in MVC play this season, going 0-3 so far.
- On the year, UNI is 1-8 overall in road contests, with its only win coming over Kansas State on Dec. 21.
- The Panthers knocked down 13 treys in their last outing, marking the fifth time this season that UNI has made 10 or more 3-pointers in a game.
- UNI dropped its first game of the season when it makes 10 or more 3-pointers, falling to 4-1 on the year.
- Sophomore Rose Simon-Ressler led the Panthers in scoring last time out, after earning a career-high 18 against Drake.
- Junior Ellie Howell earned her ninth game in double figures, with five coming in MVC play.
SERIES WITH BRADLEY/ILLINOIS STATE
- The Panthers have won 12-straight against the Braves, with UNI leading the overall series, 39-34. Dating back to 2010, the Panthers have won 18 out of the last 19 games against Bradley.
- UNI has won the last eight games against Illinois State, but the Panthers trail the overall series, 33-41.
SCOUTING THE BRAVES/RED BIRDS
- Bradley is 8-10 on the season, with a scored a season-high 117 against Evansville last time out, to break a three-game losing skid.
- Shunseere Kent leads the Braves with 9.7 points per game this season.
- Illinois State enters the weekend also with an 8-10 record, owning a 2-5 record in MVC play.
DEFENDERS OF WARREN
- UNI is 138-21 under the direction of head coach Tanya Warren when holding an opponent to 60 points or less.
- Five of UNI's top-10 scoring defense averages in school history have come during the Warren era, while the Panthers ranked second in the Valley last season after holding opponents to 58.3 points per game.
- UNI was 19-0 in 2016-17 when holding foes to 60 points or less, so far this season the Panthers are 6-4.
PANTHER SHARP SHOOTERS
- UNI has knocked down 143-of-464 (30.8%) from 3-point land this season.
- The 143 made 3-pointers this season rank as the second-most in the MVC.
- The Panthers are averaging 7.9 made 3-pointers a game.
- Last season, the Panthers shot 250-848 (29.5%) from beyond the arc to average 7.6 made 3-pointers a game.
- Senior Kennedy Kirkpatrick leads UNI with 26 made 3-pointers this season.
UNI CONTROLS THE GLASS
- This season, the Panthers are tied for first in the MVC with a 4.0 rebounding margin over foes.
- UNI has outrebounded 13 foes this season, with the highest margin of 18 coming against Wyoming earlier in November.
- When outrebounding teams this season, UNI is 7-6 on the season.
- The Panthers are averaging 40.1 rebounds per contest, which ranks second in the MVC.

- Sophomore Megan Maahs has scored exactly 15 points in four games this season.
- Maahs is just behind senior Kennedy Kirkpatrick in games with 15 or more points, scoring four this season.
- On the year, Kirkpatrick has logged eight games in double figures.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
- Sophomore Megan Maahs leads the MVC with seven double-doubles this season.
- The sophomore has earned eight double-doubles for her career at UNI.
- Maahs ranks 20th in the NCAA for total rebounds per contest at 10.4.
- In the MVC, Maahs tops the league this season in rebounds per game (10.4), defensive rebounds per game (7.3) and most double-doubles (7).
- Ellie Howell earned her career-first double-double of the season, after earning 11 points and 10 rebounds against Indiana State (1/14).
- The double-doubles for Maahs and Howell against Indiana State marked the first time UNI had two players record a double-double in the same game since Feb. 2, 2014 versus Drake (Stephanie Davison, Jen Keitel, Hannah Schonhardt).
HOWELL HEATS UP IN LEAGUE PLAY
- This season, redshirt junior Ellie Howell has scored in double figures nine times, with five of those coming in conference play.
- Howell scored a season-high 21 points against Loyola.
- During MVC play, Howell is averaging a team-best 11.0 points per outing.
