CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — UNI women's basketball head coach Tanya Warren announced the addition of Bridgeport Tusler to the coaching staff ahead of the 2026-27 season.
Tusler comes to UNI from Trevecca Nazarene University, where he spent the 2025-26 season as an assistant coach for the Trojans. Tusler arrived at Trevecca following a successful stint as the head women's basketball coach at Crown College, where he led the Polars beginning in 2022. Before taking over the Crown program, he served as an assistant men's basketball coach at Macalester College, helping guide the Scots to the MIAC Conference Championship, the program's first league title in 15 years.
His coaching résumé also includes two seasons as the head boys' basketball coach at Monticello High School. Under his leadership, Monticello advanced to the 2021 Minnesota Class 3A State Tournament as the No. 7 seed.
In addition to his high school and college roles, Tusler spent multiple years coaching and developing young talent in the AAU ranks, working alongside his wife, Angie, as recruiting coordinators and coaches with Crossfire Girls Basketball in Minnesota.
Tusler played collegiately at Bethel University (Minn.), graduating in 2018. A four-year starter, he helped lead the Royals to the 2016–17 MIAC Championship and established himself as one of the league's top two-way players. His honors include MIAC All-Rookie Team, three-time All-MIAC selection, and a selection to the MIAC All-Defensive Team.
He began his college career at South Dakota State University, where he was a member of the Jackrabbit football program before transferring to Bethel.
A standout multi-sport athlete at Osseo High School, Tusler was the starting point guard on the 2012 Minnesota Class 4A State Championship basketball team. In football, he was named Mr. Football (Minnesota), AP Player of the Year, and Metro Player of the Year in 2012.
Bridge is married to former UNI women's basketball athlete, Angie (Davison) Tusler. The two have two sons, Phenix and Treasure.
