MACOMB, Ill. — The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team swam past Western Illinois this afternoon, 187-102.
The freshman led the way for the Panthers in 1000 freestyle, with Anika Lillegard-Bouton timing in at 11 minutes, eight seconds and sixty-five hundredths of a second for first place. Emma Baertlein and Khya Barkema took third and fourth place, with times of 11:16.40 and 11:25.68.
Kylie Engstrom and Jordan McCullough tried their hand at the 200 freestyle and took first and third places. Engstrom timed in at 1:58.88 and McCullough swam a 1:59.68.
Molly Lembezeder swam to first-place finishes in the 50 and 100 freestyles. In the 50 freestyle, Lembezeder swam a 24.41. In the 100 freestyle, 52.80 was the winning time.
Katie Taylor timed in at 59.75 in the 100 butterfly, taking first-place. Taylor swam to third place in the 50 freestyle, timing in at 25.26.
Kelsey Ostrowski swam to first-place in the 200 backstroke, swimming a 2:12.75.
Moriah Ross led all competitors in the 200 breaststroke, swimming a 2:25.31.
Crystal Florman swam a 1:01.77 in the 100 backstroke for first place. Florman swam a 53.20 for second place in the 100 freestyle.
The Panthers went 1-2-3 in the 500 freestyle. Rachel Siebenaller led the way, timing in at 5:16.84. Meredith Gorman swam into second-place, swimming a 5:25.69. Maya Appleton rounded the Panthers out, swimming a 5:28.41.
In the 200 freestyle relay, the Panther team of Lauren Kacmarynski, Florman, Olivia Knowles and Natalie Nelson timed in at 1:42.61 for first-place. In the 200 medley relay, Kacmarynski, Taylor, Florman and Lembezeder timed in at 1:51.52 for second place.
Knowles and Madison Rinaldi took second and third places in the 100 breaststroke. Knowles swam a 1:10.48, with Rinaldi following at 1:13.40.
Rinaldi competed in the 200 breaststroke, taking third-place with a time of 2:36.40.
Alex Binkley swam to third place in the 100 and 200 backstroke. In the 100 backstroke, Binkley timed in at 1:04.51, while in the 200, 2:20.70 Â was good for third place.
Ostrowski swam a 2:18.86 for third place in the 200 IM.
Anna Wall swam into third in the 100 butterfly, swimming a 1:04.66.
In the diving well, Jayden Lovell led the Panthers on the 1-meter boards. Lovell dove a 237.23. Mary Kate Ferlmann and Hannah Brummel took second and third, diving a 217.08 and a 210.75. Ferlmann took first on the 3-meter boards, diving a 224.55. Brummel dove a 223.80 for second place, while Lovell dove a 192.90.
