Waterloo, Iowa---The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team posted a 3-1 victory over the Evansville Purple Aces this afternoon.

Junior Brynell Yount scored the first goal for the Panthers (9-1-1) at the 46^th minute, on an assisted from Sarah Brandt.

Evansville's JBess Ruby tied the game at 1 in the 62^nd minute.

The Panthers would strike again as Kelsey Yarrow scored in the 73^rd minute on a pass from Sydney Hayden. Hayden has four assists on the season.

Brandt would connect with Yount again in the 76^th minute, with Yount scoring to put the Panthers up 3-1. Yount has seven goals on the season and moves to 13 all-time career goals at No. 4.

"We were ready and prepared for the pressure," commented head coach Bruce Erickson. "At the end, we wore them down and were able to score three goals."

The Panthers finish non-conference play on Monday, Oct. 2 as Viterbo comes to town for a 6 p.m. match-up.

Notes:

The UNI women's soccer team fell in the United Soccer Coaches poll this week, landing at No. 13.

In NCAA rankings, UNI is in the top-10 in shutout percentage at 70%. As a team, UNI is in the top-15 in save percentage at 87.5%. Goalkeeper Jami Reichenberger is tied for fourth in total shutouts with 7. Senior Sarah Brandt is tied for No. 2 on game-winning goals at four. Brandt and Reichenberger lead the MVC in those categories as well.
