
Panthers Post Eighth Shutout Against Viterbo

WATERLOO, Iowa --- The University of Northern Iowa women's soccer team posted its eighth shutout this season, with a 3-0 victory over Viterbo (3-5-3).
Johnnie Hill got the Panthers (10-1-1) on the board first, scoring her second goal of the season in the 40th minute. Hill's goal came off an assist from Maddy Germann.
Sydney Hayden nabbed her fifth assist of the season, helping Jenny Wick score her first goal of the season in the 75th minute.
Senior Julianne Trizzino nabbed her first goal as a Panther in the 78th minute off an assist from Sarah Brandt. Brandt has five assists on the season.
With the Panthers win tonight, they now tie with most wins in program history (2003). The eighth shutout of the season also resets the record for shutouts in a season.
"We left a lot of goals on the field," remarked UNI coach Bruce Erickson. "We knew Viterbo was going to play us hard, and it took us awhile to get our stride"
The Panthers begin a road stretch of MVC action 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7 at Missouri State.
