Panthers Wrap Up Kansas Classic

LAWRENCE, Kansas—The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team finished in fourth place at the Kansas Classic today.
Sophomore Katie Taylor was named the Kansas Classic Most Valuable Swimmer. Taylor tied her record in the 200 backstroke, swimming into first-place with a time of one minute, fifty-seven seconds and 20 milliseconds.
Taylor would be joined by Crystal Florman, Abby Meyer and Molly Lembezeder in the 400 freestyle relay, earning first-place with a time of 3:24.35.
Florman would take first in the 100 freestyle, timing in at 49.98. Florman and Taylor would be named to the All-Invite team.
Lembezeder tied for second-place in the 100 freestyle, swimming a 50.45.
Kelsey Ostrowski would swim into the Top-8 in the 200 butterfly, swimming a 2:11.12.
Going the distance for the Panthers, Kylie Engstrom, Jordan McCullough and Anika-Lillegard-Bouton would all earn points for the Panthers in the 1650 freestyle. Engstrom timed in at 17:41.25, with McCullough following at 17:51. Lillegard-Bouton would round the Panthers out, swimming a 17:57.63.
Madison Rinaldi would earn points for the Panthers in the 200 backstroke, swimming a 2:05.25.
Olivia Crouse would swim a personal best in the 200 breaststroke, timing in at 2:25.87.
The Panthers return to the pool on January 12, hosting Iowa Central and Loras.
