UNI GAME NOTES
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – Seeking its first win of the season, the Northern Iowa women's basketball team (0-1) welcomes Iowa State (1-0) on Tuesday as the two squads continue the rivalry on the hardwood.
The Panthers and Cyclones will tip off at 7 p.m. CT, with the game marking UNI's final home game before hitting the road next week for a six-game road swing.

NEED TO KNOW
- UNI seeks its first win of the season this Tuesday against Iowa State at 7 p.m. CT.
- The Cyclones lead the all-time series 36-7 and have won the last 15 contests overall.
- UNI's last win over ISU was a 65-58 home win in 2002.
- Last time out, the Panthers fell in a tough defensive battle to IUPUI, 54-48, to open the season at home.

SERIES WITH IOWA STATE
- UNI and Iowa State have met 43 times on the hardwood, with the Cyclones owning a 36-7 advantage over the Panthers.
- ISU has won the last 15 meetings in the series, but the Panthers have come narrowly close to breaking that streak over the last few years.
- The Cyclones won the last meeting 76-68, while 2015's contest was only an 84-75 win for ISU.
SCOUTING THE CYCLONES
- Iowa State is coming off an 18-13 record last season that netted its 16th trip to the NCAA Tournament.
- The Cyclones were defeated by Syracuse in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
- This season, ISU is off to a 1-0 start after defeating South Dakota 81-76 at home on Friday. The Cyclones were led by Bridget Carleton's 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field.
DEFENDERS OF WARREN
- UNI is 132-18 under the direction of head coach Tanya Warren when holding an opponent to 60 points or less.
- Five of UNI's top-10 scoring defense averages in school history have come during the Warren era, while the Panthers ranked second in the Valley last season after holding opponents to 58.3 points per game.
- UNI was 19-0 in 2016-17 when holding foes to 60 points or less.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
- Sophomore Megan Maahs turned in quite the performance to open the season, as she hauled in a career-high 16 rebounds and chipped in 10 points to earn her second double-double as a Panther.
- Maahs last earned a double-double after finishing with 11 points and 12 rebounds against Bradley on Jan. 15, 2017.
ALL WE DO IS WIN
- The 2016-17 season marked the eighth-straight season the Panthers have won at least 17 or more games.
- The win total also marked the 15th season since the women's basketball program joined NCAA Division I basketball in 1982 that the Panthers have achieved at least 17 wins.
- Tanya Warren now owns eight seasons with at least 17-plus wins or more in a season, which is more than all other coaches at UNI combined.
