Panthers Post Successful Day At Bradley

PEORIA, Ill. – Led by seven top-25 finishes on Friday, Northern Iowa cross country wrapped up a successful Bradley Pink Classic to conclude the 2017 regular season.

"I'm proud of how our ladies finished today and happy with the effort on our men's side," head coach Dave Paulsen said. "This was a tough race with a lot of good teams, so we competed well. We're going to focus now on the postseason and accomplishing the goals we set out at the beginning of the season."

WOMEN'S RECAP
The women finished Friday's 6K with seven top-25 finishes, with two groups of runners competing in the Red Race and Open Race.

UNI's Brette Correy (15th – 21:29.0) and Hannah Truniger (18th – 21:30.5) claimed two of the top-25 finishes in the Red Race, while Gabby Champion (2nd – 22:39.4), Alyssa Williams (4th – 22:45.8), Alayna Kollasch (15th – 23:26.7), Maddie Reynolds (20th – 23:33.3) and Tess Roorda (24th – 23:35.3) finished with top-25's in the Open Race.

MEN'S RECAP
Friday also saw the men turning in a promising performance. Senior Luke Johnston (67th – 25:53.3) and junior Alex Jackson (112th – 26:36.0) each posted new bests in the 8K as Panthers to cap the regular season.

UP NEXT
The Panthers turn their focus now to the Missouri Valley Conference Championships on Oct. 28 in Springfield, Mo.
