
Swimming and Diving Returns to Action Friday

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa-- The University of Northern Iowa women's swimming and diving team returns to action 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, in the Glen F. Henry Pool on UNI's campus. The Panthers will play host to the Duhawks of Loras College and the Tritons of Iowa Central Community College.

Last Time in the Pool

The Panthers were last in action at the University of Nebraska-Omaha Invitational Dec. 1-3. The Panthers took home first place at the invitational and nabbed new personal best times in multiple events. "We are right on track for where we want to be," remarked head coach Doug Humphrey after the meet.

Last Time Against the Duhawks and the Tritons

The Panthers swam past the Duhawks and Tritons, a year ago in Cedar Falls. The Panthers defeated the Duhawks 174 to 56 and the Tritons 169-78. The Panther women swept all of the events across the board. The Triton women defeated the Duhawk women, 142 to 92. The Duhawk and Triton men also competed with Tritons defeating the Duhawks, with a final of 193-58.
On the women's side of the pool, strong performances came from Veronica Herrmann in the 100 butterfly, Molly Lembezeder in the mid-distance events and Aftin Phyfe in the 1,000 freestyle.
