Panthers Open Competition at ISU Classic

AMES, Iowa - The University of Northern Iowa men's and women's track and field teams opened competition Friday at the Iowa State Classic. The Panthers opened the two day event strong, recording a number of season-best marks.
Giorgio Giurdanella clocked in a season-best time in the 200 meters, crossing in 21.93, while Alex Mark took 13th in the men's 5000 meter race, clocking in at 15:15.17.
Rozle Bucalo leaped a season-best 22-09 ¾ to take 12th place in the long jump.
On the women's side, Courtney Landers launched a season-best toss in the weight throw, heaving 55-04 ¼.
Danielle Nowasell finished 13 in the women's 5000 meter race, crossing in 18:17.83.
Jamie Wieck took 13th place in the long jump, leaping 17-11 ½.
The Panthers return to action in Ames, Iowa tomorrow morning at 9:30 a.m.
