Oamen Earns All-America Honors in High Jump

This is Oamen's second All-America honor, as he earned the distinction at the 2008 NCAA Indoor Championships.
University of Texas-El Paso's Mickael Hanany took the high jumps top spot, clearing 7-07 ¼, which broke the previous Drake Stadium record of 7-07 set in 1997.
The Panthers Mat Clark earned the first two All-America honors for the Panthers yesterday, finishing sixth and 10th in the decathlon.
Senior Terrance Reid clocked in a personal-best time in the semifinals of the 400 meters, coming in at 45.79 to qualify for the finals tomorrow. Baylor's LeJerald Betters recorded the fastest semifinal time today with 45.12. Reid's personal best performance also gives him the second-best all-time mark in UNI history.
Senior Rachel Jansen earned a 12th place finish in the discus today after a throw of 156-06.
Jansen was a three-event qualifier, qualifying in the shot put, discus and hammer throw. Jansen will wrap-up her career in the Purple and Gold tomorrow with the finals of the shot put.
Sophomore Dani Stipe opened the heptathlon competition Friday morning with a 14.60 time in the 110 hurdles, earning her 895 points. In the high jump, Stipe matched her performance at the Missouri Valley Conference Championships with a jump of 5-04 ¼.
In the heptathlon shot put, Stipe heaved 32-09 ¼, good enough for 529 points. In the final heptathlon event of the day, Stipe clocked in with a 25.00 in the 200 meters. After four events Stipe sits with 3,047 points and in 24th place overall.
UNI looks to add to their All-America honors tomorrow in the final day of the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Championships. The Panthers will compete in six events including: Dani Stipe (Heptathlon), Tyler Mulder (800 meters) Dorian Ulrey (1500 meters) and Cory Goos, Ryan Grenko, Reid and Mulder (4x400).
Tomorrow's action can be viewed live on CBS beginning at 3 p.m.
