UNI crowned nine All-Americans, who earned a total of 11 All-America citations in seven events over the course of the four day event. Tyler Mulder and Cory Goos to finish fifth in the 4x400.
Sophomore Dorian Ulrey gave the crowd of 11,410 at Drake Stadium an exciting finish to the men's 1500 meter run. Ulrey sat in the middle of the pack with 100 meters left and broke open to take second place with a time of 3:42.56. Ulrey earned his second All-America distinction with the finish.
"My goal was to win, but I came up one spot short," Ulrey said. "I got a little far back, but ran on my emotions. That last lap I was running scared, it was pure adrenaline."
Senior Rachel Jansen ended her career in the Purple and Gold as the most decorated woman in UNI track and field history by earning her fourth All-America honor today in the shot put. Jansen surpassed former UNI sprinter Shantel Twiggs, who earned three All-America honors from 1991-1994.
Jansen fouled her first two attempts in the shot put, but heaved 56-11 ¼ on her third attempt to send her into the final round. Jansen broke her own UNI record of 56-10, set at the NCAA Midwest Regional (May 30).
"I was definitely nervous going into third throw, I have been there before, but haven't had that much pressure," Jansen said. "I knew I needed to just calm myself down, say some prayers and get my confidence. Then I found my timing and was able to throw."

Reid matched his personal-best effort in the 400 meters with a run of 45.79, finishing in eighth place finish and earning All-America honors.
