UNI women’s golf finishes 12th at the Redbird Invitational

NORMAL, Ill. — The UNI women's golf team rounded out play at the Redbird Invitational on Monday afternoon, hosted by Illinois State, with a 12th-place finish.
Northern Iowa shot a combined team score of 954 (+90) in the 13-team tournament, with St. Thomas (MN) winning the title, shooting a final score of 877 (+13), and their very own Kathryn VanArragon taking home the individual title, carding a 213 (-3).
The Panther ladies were led by freshman Camille Wood, who shot a final score of 231 (+15) to finish in a five-way tie for 39th place, a strong start to her collegiate career. Next was Jane Petersen, finishing the invitational with an overall score of 239 (+23), which put her in 57th place. Greenlee Smock shot a total score of 242 (+26) and placed 63rd. Smock also had the only eagle for the Panthers this tournament in round 2. Addison Berg shot a score of 246 (+30) and finished in 68th place. To close out the group, Brinley Carlson shot a final score of 248 (+32) to place 70th.
UP NEXT
The Panthers will head west to Nebraska to compete in the Stampede at the Creek at Indian Creek Golf Course in Omaha.
