UNI Men’s Golf opens Spring season in the Golden State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI men's golf team is set to tee off the Spring portion of their 2025-26 schedule in Palm Desert, California, as the Panthers head West for the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at the Classic Club Golf Course, hosted by the University of Wyoming.
The Panthers will begin the 54-hole tournament with 18 holes played each day, starting with a 9 a.m. shotgun start on Monday and Tuesday, followed by an 8 a.m. tee time on Wednesday morning.
Hosted by Wyoming on the 7,320, par-72 course, the Panthers will compete against a twenty-three-team field. That field includes, Colorado, Drake, Santa Barbara, Utah Tech, New Mexico, Cal State Northridge, Cal State Fullerton, Hawaii, Maryland, Seattle, Valparaiso, Sacramento State, Wyoming, California Riverside, Polytechnic State, College of the Desert, Southern Utah, Oral Roberts, California Irvine, California Baptist, East Texas A&M, Omaha, and Eastern Washington University.
The UNI men ended their fall season placing third as a team at the Missouri State Intercollegiate in Ozark, Mo. Senior Calen Bishop led the Panthers, finishing in fourth place with a score of 210 (-3). Junior Tanner Dinnebier finished right behind Bishop in fifth place, shooting a 211 (-4).
Bishop shot a team-best average score of 72.13 per round in the fall, while Tanner Dinnebier was second for the Panthers with an average score of 72.26. Nile Petersen averaged 73.91 a round, recording a 69 in the first round at the Zach Johnson Invitational. Cooper Hanson averaged a score of 77.00, while Freshman Anthony Galvin shot an average of 77.66. Freshman Anthony Lore shot an average score of 78.33, while Davis Tripp averaged 78.88. Sophomore Drew Spooner shot an average score of 83.00 to round out the fall season for the Panthers.
