UNI track and field: Randecker sets school record for second straight week at DePaul

CHICAGO --- UNI's Emma Randecker struck while the iron was hot, breaking her own school and freshman record in the women's 200-meter dash for a second straight week in Panther track and field's Friday showing at DePaul Blue Demon Alumni Classic.
Randecker, who won the women's 200 meters on Friday as the reigning Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Women's Track Athlete of the Week, was among five Northern Iowa victories at Chicago's Gately Park competing in the Panthers' penultimate meet ahead of the indoor conference championships.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Justin Olson (65' 7) and David Russell (60' 8 ½ finished first and second respectively in the men's weight throw with Carson Lienau taking sixth (59' 9 ¾), while Parker Kieiwet collected third place honors in the long jump with a 23' 7 ½ leap with T.Y. Pour following in sixth (22' 2 ½). Josey Dunbar also finished fourth in the women's long jump with a 18' 10 ¾ jump with Sydney Scott and Erica Miner taking third and fifth places respectively in the women's pole vault with both clearing 12' 3 ½.
On the track, Carter Accola showed off his speed in the men's 60-meter hurdles with a first place time of 8.14 seconds, with Ashton Hogrefe (8.44) taking fifth. Derek Woods led the field winning the men's 800 meters with a career-best time of 1:49.42, as the men's 4x400-meter relay team of Zach Fall, Gabe Funk, Kiewiet and Jordan Townsend crossing the finish line in a winning and season-best time of 3:13.53.
The Panthers' women's 4x400-meter relay team of Carlie Jo Fusco, Darci Wiseman, Jersey Jones and Randecker placed second in 3:43.46. Tinashe Chigudu ran a season-best 21.45 seconds to take third in the men's 200-meter dash with Kiewiet following in fourth (21.46), with Fall (48.05) and Townsend (48.47) taking fifth and seventh in the men's 400 meters and Jones placing eighth in the women's 400-meter dash (56.25). Olivia Kramer also took seventh for the Panthers in the women's 60-meter dash in 7.72 seconds.
In the throwing circles, Brenna Hackman threw for 47' 2 ¼ to take third in the women's shot put with Brylie Lorence followed in fourth (46' 10). Meanwhile in distance action, Amelia Hill finished in third place in the women's 3,000-meter run in 9:38.00, with Colin Lillie taking fourth in the men's 3,000 meters (8:18.93). Clare Wright also finished in eighth in the women's mile run (4:59.82).
