UNI men’s and women’s golf travel to Illinois for the WIU Intercollegiate

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI men's and women's golf will round out the fall portion of their 2024-25 season by traveling together for their final regular season tournament ahead of their respective conference championships, visiting the WIU Intercollegiate this weekend.
Scheduled for April 4-5 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois, the course for the WIU Intercollegiate sits at 6,274 yards and a par-71. Tee Times have yet to be announced.
The UNI men will compete against an eight-team field, including Chicago State, Western Illinois, St. Ambrose, North Dakota, Alabama State, Indian Hills CC, Wisconsin-Green Bay, and Eastern Illinois. On the women's side, the Panther ladies will compete against a four-team field, including Western Illinois, Wisconsin-Green Bay, North Dakota, and Drake University.
The UNI women are coming off a top-10 finish at the Ozark National Invitational, finishing seventh place. The Panthers were led by Anna Jensen, who finished in a tie for second place with a total score of 223 (+7) and earned her second Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Golfer of the Week honor while sinking nine birdies and 12 bogeys. Anna Nacos placed in a three-way tie for 29th place with a final score of 239 (+23), shooting a consistent three rounds of 81-79-79. Victoria Hualde finished in a seven-way tie for 39th place with a score of 241 (+25), shooting a 78 in round one.
Mckenna Mallow finished in 63rd place with a score of 248 (+32) with three birdies and 19 bogeys, while Isabella Pettersen placed in a three-way tie for 68th with a score of 256 (+40) sinking two birdies and 23 bogeys.
The Panther men are coming from a recent play in Southwest Missouri at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate, finishing in a tie for fourth place with a total score of 868 (+16). The UNI men were led by Connor Vanweelden, who placed in a tie for fourth place with a final score of 213 (E), with six birdies and eight bogeys. JD Pollard tied for 15th place by scoring 218 (+5), sinking an eagle in the round on hole ten. Nile Petersen placed in a six-way tie for 34th place, scoring 221 (+8) and 71 in the first round.
Tanner Dinnebier finished in a five-way tie for 44th place, carding a 223 (+10) score. Cooper Hanson placed in a tie for 49th place, scoring 224 (+11), competing as an individual. Calen Bishop put in a four-way tie for 51st place with a score of 225 (+12), nine birdies, and 17 bogeys.
