UNI Men’s Golf tees off for the final time this season at the MVC Championships

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- UNI men's golf will take to the links for the final time this season beginning on Sunday morning as the Drake Bulldogs play host to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships at the Des Moines Golf and Country Club in Des Moines, Iowa.

Sunday's first round is scheduled to tee off at 9:30 a.m. CT on the par-72, 7,347-yard course. Official tee times have yet to be announced.

The Panthers took tenth place at last year's MVC Championships in Lake Ozark, Missouri, hosted by Missouri State. JD Pollard finished in a tie for 18th place individually after shooting a score of 222(+6), with a final round score of 72 (E). Connor VanWeelden finished in a tie for 36th place, shooting 232 (+16) and finishing the tournament with a 79 (+7) in round three. Tanner Dinnebier finished his first MVC Championship in 45th place with a final score of 238 (+22). Nile Petersen subbed in place of Brock Seiser, shooting a 78-77 in the final two rounds to round out the tournament.

UNI is coming off of a fourth-place finish at the WIU Intercollegiate in Illinois, led by Nile Petersen, who finished in a tie for second place with a final score of 217 (+4). Petersen shot a new best round score in round two with a 69. JD Pollard finished in a tie for 15th place, shooting a score of 224(+11). Connor VanWeelden placed in a tie for 20th with a total score of 228(+15). Tanner Dinnerbier finished in a tie for 22nd with a 229 (+16) score. Caleb Bishop and Cooper Hanson ended in a five-way tie for 41st place, with both golfers shooting scores of 237 (+24), with Hanson competing as an individual.
