Anna Jensen named MVC Golfer of the Week for second time

ST. LOUIS --- UNI women's golfer Anna Jensen earned her second Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Golfer of the Week honor as announced by the league office on Friday.

A native of Dubuque, Iowa, Jensen led the Panthers this week at the Ozark National Invitational, tying for second place individually with a total score of 223 (+7) to help Northern Iowa finish in seventh place out of 14 teams. Jensen notched nine birdies and 12 bogeys, sinking five birdies in round one.

Jensen shot consistently over the three-day tournament. On the first day, she shot a 74, tying for second place. On the second day, she shot a 77, moving her to a tie for third place. She finished strong with her best round score of the tournament, a 72, moving her back into a tie for second place.

Jensen and the Panthers return to the links at the WIU Invite, April 4-5 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois.
