UNI men’s golf ties for third place at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. --- UNI men's golf finished the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate in a tie for third place with Omaha shooting a total score of 868 (+16). SIU Edwardsville took home the team title with a final score of 854 (+2) while Missouri State's Tim Holmberg claimed the individual title with a score of 206 (-7).
The Panther men were led by senior Connor VanWeelden, who finished in a tie for fourth place with a total score of 213 (E), shooting a career-low score of 68 in round one, highlighted by an eagle on hole ten. VanWeelden finished the tournament with six birdies and eight bogeys to wrap up the two-day tournament. JD Pollard tied for 15th place scoring 218 (+5), tying his best low-round score of 67 in round two, sinking an eagle in the round on hole ten. Pollard carded six birdies and 14 bogeys over the three-round competition.
Nile Petersen placed in a six-way tie for 34th place shooting a final score of 221 (+8), shooting his best round of the tournament in round one with a 71. Sophomore Tanner Dinnebier finished in a five-way tie for 44th place carding a score of 223 (+10), with five birdies and 15 bogeys. Cooper Hanson placed in a tie for 49th place scoring 224 (+11), shooting consistently over the two-day tournament 76-74-74, competing as an individual. Calen Bishop placed in a four-way tie for 51st place with a score of 225 (+12), with nine birdies and 17 bogeys to round out the tournament for the Panthers.
