Erica Peters named UNI’s latest recipient of State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award

Senior diver recognized for academic success, sportsmanship and community service by the MVC.
ST. LOUIS --- UNI diver Erica Peters was recognized by the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) on Tuesday morning as one of 12 student-athletes from around the league of the State Farm MVC Good Neighbor Award for the 2024-25 winter sports season.
The winners, selected by MVC Commissioner Jeff Jackson, are recognized for good academic standing through the demonstration of sportsmanship and other significant community service. 36 MVC student-athletes are honored during the school year, one from each conference institution for the fall, winter and spring seasons.
Peters, a junior from Ankeny, Iowa, has been a key leader for the Panthers on the boards this season. In six competitions this year, she recorded a pair of first-place finishes on the one-meter boards, including at the Huskies (Coyotes) Invite in November, as well as at Iowa State, where she achieved an NCAA Zones qualifying score. Peters was also named the MVC's Diver of the Week on Feb. 5 after a second-place performance in one-meter competition and fourth-place effort in three-meter action at the Omaha Diving Invite. She currently ranks fifth all-time in program history in three-meter action and seventh on the one-meter boards.

- Mary Margaret Harris - Missouri State (Women's Track & Field)
- Haven Ford - Murray State (Women's Basketball)
- Erica Peters - UNI (Women's Swimming & Diving)
- Mia Sinkiewicz - Southern Illinois (Women's Swimming & Diving)
- Kayla Preston - Valparaiso (Women's Basketball)
Peters and the Panthers return to action beginning Wednesday at the MVC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Waukee CSD Natatorium in Waukee, Iowa.
