CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI women's cross country team will make the short trip to Waverly on Saturday to participate in the Dan Huston Invite at Max Cross Country Course on the Wartburg College campus.

Action will begin at 10:45 a.m. CT with the women's six-kilometer race. Teams joining the Panthers on the course will be runners from Buena Vista, Central, Cornell (IA), Drake, Elmhurst, Faith Baptist Bible, Grinnell, Gustavus Adolphus, the Iowa State Run Club, Illinois Wesleyan, Knox, Luther, Nebraska Wesleyan, Salve Regina, Simpson and Wartburg.

Last Friday at the Gans Creek Classic, the Northern Iowa women placed 14th out of 27 teams in Missouri. Freshman Lindsey Sonderman led the highly competitive pack finishing 73rd (22:02), followed by Leah Klapatauskas, who put together another strong finish in Columbia, placing 78th in a time of 22:05. Meghan Wheatley notched a career-best finish placing 82nd in a time of 22:06.

Other notable participants in last Friday's meet were Melody Ochana in 130th place (22:39), Kaylee Woolery in 147th (22:55), Josee Simonson in 162nd (23:12), and Evie Henneberry in 171st (23:25).
