Panther swimming & diving announces 2024-25 schedule

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI swimming and diving team released its 2024-25 meet schedule on Wednesday, featuring three home competitions inside the Glen F. Henry Pool.

Northern Iowa, which enters its eighth season under the leadership of head coach Nick Lakin, will open with a home intrasquad meet on Sept. 28 at 12 p.m. CT inside the Wellness and Recreation Center. The Panthers' first regular season meet will be held a week later as UNI hosts the Iowa Hawkeyes on Oct. 4 beginning at 5 p.m. CT.

UNI will then hit the road Nov. 1-2 for the Quad Duals in Rochester, Minnesota for a two-day competition against St. Cloud State, South Dakota and South Dakota State at the Rochester Recreation Center. The purple and gold will also head to Iowa City prior to the Thanksgiving holiday for the Hawkeye Invite, Nov. 21-23 at the Campus Recreation-Wellness Center. To close out the calendar year, UNI will host its second annual Panther Diving Invite on Dec. 7.

Returning from the holiday break, the Panthers will head to Ames for a dual against in-state rival Iowa State on Jan. 11 before returning home Jan. 17-18 for a senior weekend celebration in a two-day dual against Illinois State. UNI rounds out the regular season Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 with swimmers heading to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for the Coyote Invite, and divers to eastern Nebraska for the Omaha Diving Invite.

For the fifth time in the last nine years, Northern Iowa will play host to the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championship meet, scheduled for Feb. 26 through March 1 at the new Waukee Natatorium in Waukee, Iowa. Qualified divers will attend the NCAA Diving Zones from March 10-12 in Iowa City and qualified athletes will attend the NCAA Championships on March 20-23 in Federal Way, Washington.
