Panthers to begin final three home games of the non-conference schedule this weekend against MAC challenger.

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- A three-game homestand begins late Saturday afternoon for the UNI men's basketball team as the Panthers take on the Northern Illinois Huskies in non-conference action inside the McLeod Center.
Tip-off is scheduled for 5 p.m. CT with live coverage on ESPN+, as well as the Panther Sports Radio Network with J.W. Cox and Kevin Boyle on the call.

The Panthers lead the all-time series with NIU with a 16-8 record and have won their last five matchups with the Huskies, including a 76-63 win in DeKalb last December. UNI's last five wins over NIU have come by an average of 13.4 points
Northern Iowa returns home after grabbing a commanding 83-56 win over UIC on Wednesday night in its Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) opener in Chicago. Snapping a five-game skid in league openers, UNI dominated inside the paint and from all around the field, shooting 56% from the floor and just over 60% from three-point range. Leon Bond III scored a career-high 22 points with Trey Campbell scoring 17 points on five made three pointers. Tytan Anderson scored 16 points, while Ben Schwieger notched eight points and three blocks.
Through eight games, the Panthers rank in the top-15 in Division I with a 50.3% shooting clip. Anderson leads UNI with 12.9 points and six rebounds per game on 55.2% shooting, while Jacob Hutson has notched 10.6 points and five rebounds a game. Schwieger has posted 9.4 in his first season as a Panther, with Campbell leading UNI with 24 assists on the season, plus 8.5 points a game.
SCOUTING NORTHERN ILLINOIS
The Huskies visit Cedar Falls having dropped five of their last six contests. NIU rolled past Division III Benedictine at home on Wednesday by a score of 89-70.
Northern Illinois was picked 11th out of 12 teams in the Mid-American Conference's (MAC) preseason poll. NIU leads the MAC with 4.6 blocks per game on defense, while the offense is second in the league in three-point field goal attempts per game (27.2) and three pointers made per game (9.2).
Quentin Jones has led the way for the Huskies with 15.2 points a game with James Dent, Jr. averaging a team high 5.7 rebounds per contest. Dent, who also averages 13.6 points a game, also leads NIU with 27 assists on the year
