Van Weelden leads the Panthers in final tournament of the fall season

HOMER, Neb. --- The UNI men's golf closed out the fall portion of its 2024-25 season on Wednesday finishing in ninth place out of 12 teams at the Throwdown Up Top, hosted by the University of South Dakota University at the Landmand Golf Club.
Loyola-Chicago captured the team title scoring 860 (-16) with the Ramblers' Charlie Kulwin taking home the individual title with a final score of 213 (-6).
Connor Van Weelden led the Panther men with a tenth-place individual finish and a score of 218 (-1) after shooting a 69 (-4) in Wednesday's final round. Calen Bishop finished in a four-way tie for 21st place with a final score of 223 (+4) with nine birdies and an eagle on the 15th hole on Wednesday.
Tanner Dinnebier tied for 55th alongside Panther teammate Cooper Hanson, who both carded a total score of 233 (+14). Dinnebier and Hanson both shot a 75 (+2) in their second round of play. JD Pollard placed 58th with a 234 (+15), while Jack Moody, competing as an individual, finished in a five-way tie for 63rd place scoring a 239 (+20) and finishing strong, shooting his best round of the tournament in the third round with a 75 (+2).
