Panther women’s golf places sixth at Coyote Creek Classic

BARTONVILLE, Ill. --- The UNI women's golf rounded out play at the Coyote Creek Classic on Monday afternoon, hosted by Bradley University with a sixth-place team finish.
Northern Iowa shot a team score of 963 (+99) in the eight-team tournament with Bradley capturing the team title. Bradley's Jillian Cosler and Peyton Coburn finished in a three-way tie for first place individually, along with Evansville's Mallory Russel, all carding a final score of 224 (+8).
The Panther ladies were led by Anna Jensen, who shot a 76 (+4) and 75 (+3) in Sunday's first two rounds and 77 (+5) on Monday to finish in seventh place individually with a final score of 228 (+12). Isabella Pettersen, competing as an individual, placed 21st overall shooting 239 (+23) with five birdies and 22 pars across the two-day event. Anna Nacos finished in 29th place, shooting her best score of the competition in the first round with a 79 (+7) and shooting a total score of 243 (+27).
Victoria Hualde and McKenna Mallow both tied for 33rd place with a final score of 247 (+31), with Hualde sinking one birdie and 25 pars, while Mallow recorded three birdies and 20 pars. Sophomore Addison Berg finished in a tie for 42nd place scoring a 255 (+39), finishing with a low round of 83 (+11) on Sunday in the second round.

The Panthers will wrap up the fall portion of the 2024-25 schedule Oct. 14-15 at the Tommie Invitational, hosted by the University of St. Thomas at the Stone Ridge Golf Course in Stillwater, Minnesota.
