CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- The UNI soccer team will begin the final month of the 2024 regular season on the road, kicking off a two-match week in southern Indiana on Thursday night with a trip to Evansville to take on the Purple Aces.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT at the Arad McCutchan Stadium in Evansville with live coverage available on ESPN+.Â
The Purple Aces hold a comfortable 13-5-0 record all-time against UNI, but the Panthers were victorious in its previous meeting with Evansville last season at home on the UNI Soccer Field, which resulted in a 3-2 Panther win.
Northern Iowa returns to the road after grabbing its first Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) win of the season in a 4-0 shutout of the reigning MVC Tournament champion Valparaiso Beacons at home. A pair of goals from Maddie Eastus, as well as scores from Lauren Heinsch and Olivia Knoepfle helped lift the Panthers to a dominant win, outshooting the Beacons by a 23-2 margin. In the victory, goalkeeper Caitlin Richards also tied UNI's program record for career shutouts with her 18th clean sheet, pulling even with former Panther and current UNI assistant coach Jami Reichenberger (2017-18).
The 2024 season is once again becoming another historic one for the purple and gold. UNI's 26 goals scored are the fifth-most in a single season in team history, while its 67 team points are fourth most all-time. Individually, in addition to Richards closing in on sole possession of the program's career shutouts record, Heinsch is currently tied as the program leader in career game-winning goals (8) and games with a goal scored (20).

SCOUTING THE PURPLES
Evansville hosts UNI after pulling even with Missouri State last Thursday in a 1-1 draw in Springfield. The Purple Aces, who finished 1-7-9 last season, struggled in the non-conference portion of the schedule with a challenging non-conference slate that included Western Kentucky, Louisville and Indiana. Evansville's lone win of this season has come in MVC play with a 1-0 home win over UIC.
Under the leadership of sixth year head coach Chris Pfau, the Purples Aces look to snap their current streak of consecutive ties against Murray State and Missouri State. Freshman Emmy Brenner leads Evansville with two of the Aces' nine goals scored this season with seven others finding the back of the net. Senior Hailey Autenrie has notched a pair of assists for the Aces, while Myia Daneks leads Evansville with 50 saves in goal and a .806 save percentage.
