ST. LOUIS --- UNI's Rylie Driskell has been selected to the Missouri Valley Conference's (MVC) Women's Golf Scholar-Athlete Honorable Mention Team, as announced by the league office on Friday morning.
The criteria for the MVC Scholar-Athlete Team parallels the College Sports Communicators (CSC) standards for its Academic All-America program.  Nominated student-athletes must have participated in the MVC Championship or 50 percent of the team's tournaments in season -- with legitimate athletic credentials -- and at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average (4.0 scale). Nominees in grad school must have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better both as an undergrad and in graduate school.
Driskell, a sophomore from Creston, Iowa, is the ninth Panther in program history to receive this honor, after appearing in seven tournaments for UNI during the 2022-23 season. Averaging a score of 82.38 per round, Driskell shot a season-low score of 75 in the third round of Stampede At The Creek last month. Shooting three rounds of 70 over the course of the year, Driskell's best finish of the year came in early April as she took 23rd place at the WIU Invite.Â
