
UNI women's golf: Panthers tied for second place after first round of MVC Championships

WATERLOO, Ill. — UNI women's golf teed off the first round of the 2023 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Championships on Sunday morning at the Annbriar Golf Course, posting an impressive first round of play and ending the day just 5 shots off the team lead.
Missouri State leads the field with a team score of 315, with the Panthers sitting at 320. Belmont sits in third place at 322, followed by Southern Illinois at 323.
During the cool first day off play, Victoria Hualde led the Panthers with a 77 (+5) in the opening round, sitting in a six-way tie for second place after 18 holes. Huddle bogeyed five holes on the day, but managed to settle for par on the remaining 13.
Anna Jensen sits in a tie for ninth place after a 79 (+7), with Anna Nacos tied for 15th with 80 (+8). Jensen sank a pair of putts on the front nine on the fifth and ninth holes, while Nacos scored a birdie on the hole three green.
Junior Lily Bredemeier is tied for 33rd place, scoring 84 (+12) on Sunday, while freshman McKenna Mallow is tied for 45th at 87 (+15).
The second round of the MVC Championships will tee off at 9:30 a.m. CT on Monday morning.
