Theo Day earns MVFC Co-Offensive Player of the Week Honors

Day records 337 yards and four touchdowns on path to Co-Offensive Player of the Week honors.
ST. LOUIS — UNI quarterback Theo Day has been named the Missouri Valley Football Conference's (MVFC) Co-Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday morning. This is Day's first MVFC honor of the season and the second for the Panthers in the 2023 season.
Day, a redshirt senior out of Canton, Michigan, led the matchup against Youngstown State with 337 passing yards. He also accounted for four passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown, a career-high. He moved into fifth all-time on the Panther passing yards list with 6,643 career passing yards. Day passed then sixth-ranked Steve Sandon (1978-81) and fifth-ranked Eli Dune (2015-18) on Saturday against the Penguins.
With 14 minutes left against the 19th-ranked Youngstown State Penguins, Theo Day led the Panther offense to three touchdowns including a 30-yard pass to Sam Schnee and his own one-yard rush. He continues his streak of games with a passing touchdown which is set at a program-record 26 games.
UNI returns to action on Saturday when they head to Terre Haute, Indiana to take on the Sycamores of Indiana State. The game can be watched on ESPN+ or listened to on the Panther Sports Radio Network.
