CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — Four members of the UNI women's tennis team will wrap up the fall portion of the 2023-24 season beginning Thursday in Lawrence, Kansas at the ITA Regional Championships, hosted by Kansas University.
Issa Sullivan, Darta Dalecka, Kim Zizek and Lasya Mylavarapu will go head-to-head against challengers from all across the central region in both doubles and singles matches. Dalecka and Zizek are slated to be paired together for doubles, while Sullivan and Mylavarapu will compete as a duo. All four Panthers will be making their ITA Regional Championship debut.
Dalecka, who placed fourth in flight 2 singles at last week's Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Individual Championships, enters the tournament with a 6-4 record in singles after splitting her first six matches of the season. Sullivan, meanwhile, heads to Lawrence with a pair of wins on the year against Addison Miller (Omaha) and Lara Kaiser (Marquette) at Minnesota's Gopher Invite last month.
Zizek earned her lone singles win of the fall against Lillian Tiemeyer (Omaha) in Minneapolis last month, while Mylavarapu will search for her first win of the year in the qualifying rounds.
First round matchups in singles include Zizek facing Sorcha Caves (South Dakota), Sullivan challenging Elif Gunal (Missouri State), and Mylavarapu battling Maria Santos (Kansas State). Draws for doubles have yet to be announced.
