UNI women’s tennis set for Redbird Invite

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa — The UNI women's tennis team is back in action this weekend, September 26-28, at the Redbird Invite in Normal, Illinois. The event will feature string competition from across the Midwest, giving the Panthers another opportunity to build experience early in the fall season.
The Panthers opened their 2025-26 campaign last weekend at the Gopher Invitational in Minneapolis. Sophomore Abbie Peterson highlighted the tournament with a singles victory over Aiyana Abott (Marquette), 6-4, 0-6, 10-1, earning UNI's lone singles win of the weekend.
The UNI roster features a blend of experience and new faces this season. Seniors Lasya Mylavarapy and Kanyanut Sudsaard lead the way, while Sophomores Peterson and Raznatovic return with key match experience. Freshman Sedina Begic, Yangjiaxin Li, and Alyssa Meeky are making their collegiate debuts.
