CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - UNI women's tennis won the top two singles spots, but fell to Northern Illinois University, 5-2.Â
UNI's freshmen at line 1 and 2, both Darta Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso beat their opponents in really close matches, 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (7-5) and 6-3 3-6 6-1 respectively. They also won their doubles match at line No.1 6-4.Â
On the doubles play, Thaissa Moreira and Andrijana Brkic lost the deciding match for the doubles point, 3-6, since Cardoso/Dalecka won, and Issa Sullivan/Olivia Fain lost 1-6
On the singles play, Sullivan had a really close match, but lost 6-4, 3-6 and 7-10 on the super tiebreaker. Emma Carr, Brkic and Moreira lost in straight sets.Â
The Panthers are back in action 11 a.m. tomorrow at home again, playing against Grinnell College.
