CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – UNI tennis will wrap up the fall portion of its schedule as it heads to Springfield, Mo. this weekend to compete in the Missouri Valley Conference Individual Championships, Oct. 7-9.Â
Hosted by Missouri State, the three-day event will pit the MVC's nine women's programs against one another in nine separate flights, including six singles and three doubles brackets.
Darta Dalecka, who carries a 4-5 record in singles this season, will open the weekend in flight 1 singles against UIC's Agnes Gustafsson. In flight 2, Andrijana Brkic (13-1) will battle against DU's Mille Hagensen. Lorena Cardoso (1-7) is set to play Murray State's Emma Honore in flight 3, along with Thaissa Moreira (1-7) competing against Sandra Lukacova of Missouri State in flight 4. Flight 5 will start with Issa Sullivan (1-7) taking the court with Taylor Trondson of Belmont, followed by Lasya Mylavarapu (3-3) in flight 6 who will compete against Illinois State's Elena Janulovska.Â
The sophomore duo of Dalecka and Cardoso (5-7) take on Drake's Stephani and Ehn in the first flight of doubles. In flight 2, Brkic and Sullivan (1-3) will compete against Murray State's Honore and Campigotto. Moreira and Mylavarapu (3-1) are set to play Ryan and von Dungern of UIC to wrap up the third and final flight of doubles competition for day one.Â
