Panther Soccer Begins MVC Play on Friday

THIS WEEK'S ACTION:
Friday, September 17th - Cedar Falls, Iowa
UNI vs. Evansville - 3 p.m.
Sunday, September 19th -Â Cedar Falls, Iowa
UNI vs. Kansas City - 1 p.m.
THE PANTHERS:
- The Panthers begin conference action this week with Friday afternoon's game against Evansville before having one more non-conference game on Sunday.Â
- Panther forward Sophia Meier earned her first goal of the season on Friday evening against South Dakota St. Meier's goal was the only goal for the Panthers on the night.Â
- The Panthers played a strong defensive game on Sunday against South Dakota where they kept the Coyotes away from the corners. UNI did not allow a single corner kick in the first half against a team used to racking up 7 corner kicks a game.Â
- The Panthers rank in the top 25 teams in the country for fouls per game. At 5.9 fouls a game, UNI is 24th among NCAA Division 1 teams.
THE ACES:
- The Aces lost their first game of the season on Sunday afternoon to SIUE 0-2.
- The Aces currently lead the Missouri Valley Conference headed into conference play with a record of 4-1-3.
- The Aces lead the MVC in several statistical catagories including assists per game, GAA, and penalty kicks.
THE ROOS:
- The Roos end non-conference play against UNI before beginning Summit League action on October 1st.
- Roos goalkeeper Mackenzie Caldwell ranks 3rd in the nation in saves made per game at 9 saves a game.
- Roos goalkeeper Mackenzie Caldwell has made at least seven saves in all four of her starts this season, including a career-high 12 in last week's loss against Iowa. That mark was good for the fourth-best single-game saves tally in program history.
