UNI Women's Golf Finish Second at MVC Championship

ST. CHARLES, Missouri –  The UNI women's golf team finished the MVC Championship in second place for the third consecutive year after falling in a team playoff.
The Panthers rallied in the final 18 holes of the championship, tying the 36 hole leader Evansville who they trailed by 10 strokes at the start of the day.
UNI's Emily Snelling finished T2 after shooting a final day 81. Snelling's three day 231 was two strokes shy of the eventual champion, Evansville's Sophia Rehleder (229). Hannah Bermel carded a 79 to finish T4 with a 232 and Sydney Eaton finished T6 with a three day 233. Allison Nuss finished T28 with a 247 and Hailey Bermel ended with 264.
Hannah Bermel and Emily Snelling were named All-MVC while John Bermel was named the MVC Co-Coach of the Year with Evansville's John Andrews and Jim Hamilton. Coach Bermel's Coach of the Year award is the first for the UNI golf team since 2002 and the first for Bermel since he won it in 2001 with the UNI men's golf team.
