Panthers Fall to Valparaiso, 5-2

WATERLOO, Iowa – The UNI women's tennis team fell to Missouri Valley Conference foe Valparaiso, 5-2, at the Black Hawk Tennis Club in Waterloo, Iowa on Friday.
In doubles action, senior Valentina Caro/sophomore Thaissa Moreira defeated Amanda Tabanera/Isabelle Schoolcraft, 6-4, on the No. 2 court. After a tight battle on the No. 3 court, senior Madeline Doherty/freshman Issa Sullivan defeated Mia Bertino/Allison McConnell, 7-5, to secure the doubles point for the Purple and Gold.
Moreira posted the Panthers' second point from the No. 3 court after a three-set battle with Tabanera. Falling 3-6 in the first set, Moreira bounced back to take the second 6-3. Moreira sealed her victory in the third set, defeating Tabanera, 10-8.

The Panthers hit the road to take on Illinois State on April 10 at 1 p.m. in Normal, Ill. and Bradley on April 11 at 11 a.m. in Peoria, Ill.
