EDWARDSVILLE, Illinois — The UNI women's tennis team fell to SIUE on Saturday as the match was halted following the Cougars securing the clinching point.

At the top of the singles lineup, sophomore Andjela Raznatovic battled at the No.1 position but was defeated by Margaux Guibal Britt, 6-1, 6-3. Freshman Lucia Schuknecht was competing in a tight match at No. 2 singles against Stefaniya Anikina before play was stopped, with Anikina leading 6-3, 3-2.

Doubles play opened the match with SIUE sweeping all three courts. At No. 1 doubles, Raznatovic and Schuknecht were locked in a competitive match against Anikina and Guibal Britt before it was stopped at 3-3. SIUE earned wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to secure the opening point.

In singles action, SIUE claimed victories at the remaining courts before play concluded. Jessica Li defeated Yangjiaxin Li at No. 3 singles, 6-1, 6-0, while Paloma Hannicaux topped Andrea Noa Galin at No. 4 singles, 6-4, 6-3, before the clinch. Chloe Koons earned a win at No. 5 singles over Kayla Santosa, 6-2, 6-0. The match at No. 6 singles between Mya Bowe and Abbie Peterson was unfinished.
