UNI Softball Surge Past Evansville

UNI vs Evansville | W, 22-7
The UNI Panthers picked up the win in tremendous fashion scoring a grand total of twenty-two runs, this being the most runs scored in a single game this season. UNI tallied twenty-two runs on ten hits and zero errors. The Panthers drew a total of eleven walks and were hit by pitch five times.
UNI started off first on the scoreboard when the Panthers would score off a bases loaded Taylor Hogan walk that scored Sammey Bunch. From there, the Panthers never looked back. They would go on to score three runs in the 2nd, three runs in the 3rd, and fifteen runs in the 4th inning.
Junior Erica Oler (3-3) picked up the win for the Panthers. The southpaw went 4.0 innings, giving up six runs, six earned, on seven hits, allowing two walks and striking out four. Samantha Heyer would come into relieve in the top of the fifth with the Panthers up 22-7. Heyer went 1 inning, giving up one run, one earned, one hit, walking none, and striking out one.
At the plate, the Panthers were led by Senior Sammey Bunch, who went 2-for-2 on the day with two home run, seven RBI's and five runs scored. Both home runs coming from the same inning and one being a grand slam. Bunch was hit by pitch twice and drew one walk. The Panthers also found a big bat from Daryn Lamprecht and Sammy Moss. Lamprecht went 1-for-1 with three RBI's. Moss went 2-for-2 with one RBI and scored four runs.
UNI vs Evansville | W, 14-0
UNI picked up right where they left off in game two against Evansville with a winning margin of 14-0. The Panthers recorded fourteen runs on fifteen hits and had zero errors.
UNI once again got on the board early, scoring two runs in the bottom of the first and held the Purple Aces scoreless the entire game. UNI scored two in the 1st, five in the 2nd, four in the 3rd, and three runs in the 4th.
Sophomore Kailyn Packard (9-5) started in the circle and picked up the win for the Panthers. The right-hander went four innings, giving up no runs, on three hits, walking one and striking out twelve Purple Aces batters. Samantha Heyer would come in again to finish the game in the top of the 5th. Heyer went one inning giving up no runs, no hits, walking none, and striking out one.
The Panther bats came up huge again in game two. Snider led the Panthers at the plate with three hits, two RBI's and scored two runs. Bunch, Emmy Wells, Sammy Moss, and Madison Parks all recorded two hits over the span of four innings. Bunch and Moss each recorded one RBI while scoring three runs. Wells tallied one triple, three RBI's and scored two runs. Parks had two RBI's and scored three runs.
