Cedar Falls, Iowa – UNI Softball finished 2-0 on Sunday, April 11^th beating Valparaiso 9-3 in game one and 10-5 in game two to finish off the weekend series. The Panthers went 3-0 against Valparaiso in the three game weekend series.

The Panthers scored nine runs on eight hits and had no errors.

In the circle, Erica Oler got the ball to start for the Panthers. Oler (4-3) picked up the win, going five innings giving up seven hits, one earned run, struck out two, and walked none. Hailey Sanders came in the top of the 6^th inning to relieve Oler. Sanders went two innings giving up two earned runs, four hits, struck out one and walked none.

On the offensive side the Panthers found a spark from Senior Sammey Bunch, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, scored two runs, and had two RBI's. Freshman Catcher Emmy Wells also came up big for the Panthers going 1-for-4 with one run, and 3 RBI's.

On the offensive side, The Panthers were led by the Junior and Senior Combo of Sammey Bunch and Emma Valainis. Bunch went 3-for-3 in game two with two home runs, one double, two runs, and four RBI's. Valainis went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and 2 RBI's.

Sophomore Kailyn Packard (12-5) continues to stay dominant in the circle. Packard threw five strong innings giving up three earned runs, eight hits, striking out seven, and walking none. Samantha Heyer would come in to relieve Packard in the top of the 6^th inning and finish the game. Heyer gave up two runs, one earned, on two hits, striking out one and walking none.

The Panthers had a total of ten runs on eleven hits and had three errors. UNI started on the scoreboard first pushing two runners across in the 1^st inning followed by two more in the 3^rd and 4^th and four in the 5^th. UNI led the entire game while Valparaiso never had the chance to take the lead.

The Panthers are back in action Apr. 14^th when they will take on in state rival the Cyclones from Iowa State. The game is set for a 3:00 pm first pitch and can be watched live on ESPN+.
