UNI takes on St. Louis in Rockford Regional Championship of WNIT

 The Panthers advance to the third round of the WNIT after an exhilarating last-second layup made by Emerson Green to claim the on-point, 64-63 win over Creighton.
• Megan Maahs led the Panthers with a game-high 20 points and held the Panthers close to the Bluejays late in the fourth quarter, with a pair of free-throws and a layup. She went 6-6 from the charity stripe during the game.
• Karli Rucker aided in the Panther win scoring 13 points on the night with nine of her points in the first quarter alone, giving the Panthers an early lead.
• Emerson Green scored the winning layup with four seconds left in the game against Creighton and ended the night with seven points, two rebounds, and a block and a steal.
• St. Louis advanced after a 61-44 win over Milwaukee on Saturday, Mar. 20. St. Louis allowed just 15 points by Milwaukee in the second and third quarters combined.
• Rachel Kent recorded a career-high 24 points for the Billikens. She went 6-7 from the three-point line, 7-10 from the field, and 4-4 from the free-throw line.
• Brooke Flowers grabbed nine rebounds and the team recorded a total of 37, out-rebounding Milwaukee to their recorded 26.
• St. Louis shot 92.9% (13-14) from the free-throw line and a challenging 40.0% (6-15) from the three-point line. UNI shot 78.9% (15-19) from the free-throw line against Creighton and 34.9% (22-63) from the field overall.
• Four Panthers went 100.0% from the free-throw line, Bre Gunnels, Kam Finley, Maahs, and Rucker.
• UNI advances to the championship game of the Rockford Region marking the second time in program history. The first time was in 2016 where they played South Dakota. The winner of the championship game will travel to Memphis, Tn. for the WNIT semifinals.
• The Panthers and the Billikens will meet Monday, Mar. 22 in the UW Health Sports Factory with a tip-off at 7 p.m.
