Panthers Face Dayton in First Round of WNIT

 The women's basketball team received an at-large bid to the WNIT marking this season as their ninth overall WNIT appearance and their 10th postseason appearance in the past 11 seasons excluding the 2019-20 season due to COVID-19.
• The Panthers stand with a 14-12 overall record and ended the conference season 11-7.
• The Panthers suffered a 62-59 loss to Bradley on Mar. 12 at the Hoops in the Heartland Tournament. Bradley went on to win the tournament.
• Megan Maahs recorded a double-double against the Braves in the MVC Tournament with 17 points and 11 rebounds. She also sits at the No. 16 spot on the All-Time Scoring list with 1,102 points, 32 points away from No. 15 Kerry Dawson. She records 851 career rebounds.
• Karli Rucker led the Panthers with 19 points, with nine points in the fourth quarter alone. She is now No. 8 on the All-Time Scoring list with 1,389 points and trails Lizzie Boeck in the No. 7 spot by 16 points.
• Kam Finley and Megan Maahs shot 100.0% from the free-throw line against Bradley. Maahs went 4-4 and Finley landed 1-1 after an and-one opportunity.
• Dayton advanced to the semifinals in the A-10 Tournament but fell to VCU by six points. Senior, Jenna Giacone, led the Flyers in both games of the tournament with 17 points against La Salle and 16 points against VCU.
• Freshman, Tenin Magassa has found her place with the Flyers. Recently named, Sixth Woman of the Year also grabbed a double-double against La Salle in the first round of the A-10 Tournament. Against VCU she recorded five points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
• Many Flyers received accolades from the A-10 Conference. Aarion Bradshaw was named A-10 Defensive Player of the year, Jenna Giacone was named Most Improved Player and Magassa is the Sixth Woman of the Year.
• The Dayton Flyers come into the WNIT with a 14-3 overall record and finished 12-1 in Atlantic-10 Conference Play, suffering losses from Akron, VCU, and St. Louis University.
• The two teams will meet at the UW Health Sports Facility in Rockford, Ill. for an 11 a.m. tip-off. All games will be broadcasted on FloHoops.
