Sammey Bunch Earns MVC Player of the Week

St. Louis- For the second time this season, the Missouri Valley Conference has announced UNI's Sammey Bunch as the MVC Player of the Week following her play against Lipscomb University and Samford at the Samford Tournament.

Senior shortstop Sammey Bunch posted a .467 batting average, three home runs, four RBI's, seven hits, and six runs this week in a double header against Lipscomb and Samford this weekend. Bunch has now recorded six home runs on the season. Three home runs came in the past six games. Bunch has also posted two multiple hit games over the span of the week. In the field Bunch recorded ten putouts, one error, for a .900 fielding percentage.

Bunch and the Panthers will now travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama to take part in the Alabama Tournament from Mar. 5 - Mar. 7. The Panthers will play the first game of the weekend on Friday, March 5th against the University South Alabama with the first pitch set for 11:00 am.
