Panther women's basketball returns home to play Wichita State

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - After another successful road trip, the UNI women's basketball team returns home to try and get its first home win of the season.
The Panthers cruised to a win against North Dakota State in Fargo on Wednesday night. Now UNI returns to the McLeod Center to face a former MVC-rival in the Wichita State Shockers. Tipoff time is set for 11 a.m. in Cedar Falls. Fans should be aware that 27th Street near the McLeod Center will be shut down for about a month to the west of Greenhill Road starting this week.Â
THE PANTHERS:
-Â The Panthers continued their strong start on the road this season with a win against North Dakota State in Fargo. UNI's 76-63 win marks the 7th time they've beat NDSU in nine meetings and the first in Fargo since 2013.
-Â Fifth-year senior forward Bre Gunnels is currently 29th int he nation for blocked shots. She has 7 on the season and is at 3rd in the MVC for blocks recorded.Â
- Fifth-year senior guard Karli Rucker led the way Wednesday night for the Panthers against NDSU with 27 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Rucker leads UNI on the season 15.3 points per game and 63% shooting from 3 point range.
